Overview

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), through its NORCAP programme, has opened an Emergency Response Roster 2026 seeking roughly 50 to 75 experienced humanitarian specialists worldwide. There are four profiles, each recruiting about 10 to 15 people: Humanitarian Coordination Specialist, Information Management Specialist, Logistics Specialist and WASH Specialist. The roster is meant to strengthen UN agencies and humanitarian partners responding to sudden-onset crises and complex emergencies.

Roster membership is not permanent employment and does not guarantee deployment. Deployment depends on humanitarian needs, operational requirements and candidate suitability.

Who can apply

The roster suits mid- and senior-level professionals rather than early-career applicants, since several profiles need extensive international emergency experience. Candidates should be ready to show they can work in complex or high-risk environments.

Requirements

Humanitarian Coordination Specialist (P3/P4): at least 7 years of international humanitarian experience, at least 3 missions in hardship settings, coordination or management experience, recent emergency work, UN or inter-agency background, professional English plus French, Arabic, Portuguese or Spanish, and knowledge of the Humanitarian Programme Cycle and cluster system.

WASH Specialist (P3/P4): at least 3 international missions, emergency WASH programming, knowledge of water supply, sanitation and hygiene, rapid assessments, Sphere standards and WASH coordination.

Information Management Specialist (P3/P4): humanitarian information management, building systems, data collection and analysis, dashboards, maps and reports, knowledge of coordination structures and responsible data management.

Logistics Specialist (P3/P4): a relevant degree or professional qualification, at least 5 years of humanitarian supply-chain or logistics experience, emergency logistics decision-making, knowledge of Logistics Cluster structures and logistics information systems.

What you get

Members join a global network of humanitarian, peace and development professionals and may receive salary and benefits under NORCAP's framework for international assignments. They also have access to a Staff Care Unit and professional networks.

How to apply

Applicants should review the requirements for their chosen profile and make sure the CV shows relevant experience, international missions, technical expertise and languages.

Key dates

The deadline is 23 September 2026 at 11:59 PM Central European Time.
