The Tutor Trust is hiring a North East Programme Manager to lead and coordinate tutoring initiatives supporting children and young people throughout Tees Valley and potentially other parts of North East England. This full-time, fixed-term position runs until 31 July 2027, with a possibility of becoming permanent based on performance and organisational needs. The role is primarily remote, though it requires frequent travel across the region to educational settings in Hartlepool, Tees Valley, and surrounding areas.

Who can apply

Applicants should possess a background in programme management, education, partnership development, and team leadership. Candidates must be educated to degree level or hold equivalent relevant experience. The successful applicant is required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, reference checks, and a verification of the right to work in the United Kingdom.

What you get

The position involves a standard working week of 36.25 hours, with flexible working opportunities and consideration for part-time or term-time-only arrangements. Benefits include 33 days of annual leave inclusive of bank holidays on a pro rata basis, a health and wellbeing support programme, a 24-hour GP service, mental health support, a benefits platform, and learning and development opportunities. Reasonable business travel expenses are reimbursed according to the organisation's stated arrangements, and enhanced family and sick leave may become available after a qualifying period.

Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate experience managing programmes or projects, coordinating multiple responsibilities, achieving targets, leading teams, and building professional relationships. Essential qualifications include strong business development and partnership-building skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, strong organisational and time-management skills, proficiency in Microsoft 365, and experience managing data, records, and performance reporting. Applicants must also maintain a commitment to safeguarding children and young people. Experience using Salesforce and knowledge of the education landscape in Tees Valley and North East England are considered advantageous.

How to apply

Interested candidates must review the job description and application documents before submitting their application, ensuring they highlight their programme management experience, leadership achievements, stakeholder engagement skills, and experience supporting education or youth-focused services.
