Overview

Médecins Sans Frontières, also known as Doctors Without Borders, is recruiting Human Resources Coordinators for its field teams in countries where it provides humanitarian assistance. MSF is an international medical humanitarian organisation founded in 1971 that assists people whose lives are threatened by conflict, epidemics, natural disasters or exclusion from healthcare.

The coordinator joins the mission coordination team and develops, adapts, plans and supervises the mission's HR strategy. The work combines strategic HR management with hands-on field support, making sure practices meet operational needs and comply with local legislation, MSF policies and humanitarian principles.

Requirements

Duties include anticipating staffing needs, adjusting team structures, supporting the development of national and international staff, managing personnel administration and contracts, supporting recruitment, identifying training needs, conducting performance reviews, advising managers on team composition, recruiting and managing the HR team, and making field visits.

Applicants need at least 2 years of experience in HR and team management, at least 12 months in a humanitarian coordination position, good Excel knowledge, and strong organisational, analytical, reporting, mediation and coaching skills. English at C1 level is required, French is an important advantage, and Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese can strengthen an application. A commitment to diversity, inclusion and non-discrimination is expected.

What you get

The post is a 12-month full-time fixed-term contract. From 1 November the advertised salary is approximately €50,000 to €60,000 gross per year, depending on seniority and experience. MSF covers assignment expenses such as transportation, visas, accommodation and vaccinations, and provides health insurance, repatriation insurance and retirement benefits.

How to apply

Applications go through MSF's recruitment process for humanitarian missions. The vacancy was published on 24 August 2026 and applications are open until 30 November 2026.
