Overview
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Eastern Africa is hiring a Travel and Contracting Officer in Nairobi, Kenya. MSF is an independent international humanitarian medical organisation that provides emergency healthcare to people affected by conflict, disease outbreaks, natural disasters and other crises, impartially and regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or politics. The regional office supports operations in the region through recruitment, staff deployment, communications, fundraising, medical operational support and administration.
Reporting to the Travel and Mobile Staff Deployment Team Leader, the officer coordinates travel, staff deployment and contract administration for employees working through the office. Travel duties include arranging staff mobility, drafting travel policies, handling visas, work permits and residence documents, liaising with protocol offices and embassies, booking flights and accommodation, processing travel expense authorisations and per diems, supporting medical travel and keeping movement records. Contract duties include preparing employment contracts, amendments, renewals and extensions, supporting onboarding and offboarding, tracking contract timelines and coordinating legal documents such as work permits and social security registration.

Requirements
Applicants need a Bachelor's degree in human resource management, administration, tourism or a related field, strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and at least two years in a similar administrative or travel coordination role, such as in travel agencies, airlines, events, visa processing or work permit administration. Humanitarian or nonprofit experience and prior MSF experience are advantages. Professional English is required, and French is helpful.

The package includes an open-ended full-time contract, an annual salary of EUR 18,476 with a 2 percent annual increment for up to ten years, a monthly work-life balance benefit of EUR 247 to 295, employer pension contributions, medical insurance for staff and eligible family members and 25 days of annual leave.
