Overview

Bath Spa U Ltd seeks a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Business to join the academic team in an on-site role based in Birmingham. The postholder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching, assessment, and academic support across foundation and undergraduate programmes. Responsibilities include planning and delivering inclusive teaching, supporting student progression, marking and providing feedback, and taking on additional academic responsibilities such as Module Leadership. Classes run seven days a week, requiring flexibility to work weekends and evenings.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject area. Essential experience includes a minimum of one year of teaching experience within UK higher education or further education, including planning and delivering teaching using higher education methods and working with virtual learning environments. Candidates must also demonstrate in-depth subject knowledge, strong communication and digital literacy skills, and the ability to manage workloads effectively.

Appointments at the Senior Lecturer level require a minimum of five years of teaching experience within UK higher education or further education, alongside evidence of leadership or contributions beyond individual teaching. Desirable qualifications include a PhD in a relevant discipline, a recognised teaching qualification in higher education or further education, fellowship or working towards fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, and engagement in research or pedagogic activity.

What you get

The position is a full-time, permanent contract offering an annual salary ranging from £38,784 to £56,536 per year. The default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range unless exceptional circumstances apply.
