Laudato Si’ Movement Is Hiring a Remote France Program Coordinator (Interim) | 2-Month Part-Time Climate Justice Opportunity
Overview
The Laudato Si' Movement (LSM), an international network of Catholic organisations and grassroots leaders that works to care for the environment and advance climate justice, is hiring an interim France Program Coordinator. The role is remote and part-time and lasts two months, with salary based on experience. LSM works through community mobilisation, environmental campaigns, faith-based advocacy, climate education, grassroots organising and partnerships with civil society organisations.
The coordinator leads the implementation of campaign strategies in France, reports to the Europe Director and works with the France Campaign Coordinator and other programme teams. Duties include leading climate and ecological justice campaigns across France, supporting Laudato Si' Animators, Circles and member organisations, recruiting participants for major global campaigns, promoting the Laudato Si Action platform and coordinating participation during moments such as the Season of Creation. The coordinator builds relationships with Catholic leaders and institutions, faith-based climate organisations, environmental groups, civil society and affected communities, and Catholic media, and represents LSM publicly. They also implement the France strategy, develop engagement plans, track goals, evaluate impact and document results and lessons.
Who can apply
The role is open to candidates in France and selected EU countries, including Spain, Belgium and Italy. Applicants should have 2 to 4 years of experience in nonprofit organisations, with environmental or faith-based experience preferred, and 1 to 3 years managing staff or volunteers. Knowledge of climate and ecological issues, an understanding of French Catholic communities and institutions and comfort working in a faith-based environment are expected.
Requirements
The ideal candidate shows strong project management, communication and writing, strategic thinking, partnership building, multi-project management, independence in a remote setting and familiarity with digital organising tools. Knowledge of the French Church structure and relationships with Catholic organisations are an advantage. Fluency in French is required, and strong English is preferred.
