Overview

Kvinna till Kvinna is offering an internship within its Policy, Advocacy & Press Unit for the spring semester of 2027. Based at the head office in Stockholm, Sweden, this hybrid opportunity provides practical experience in research, policy development, advocacy communications, and event coordination. The placement is designed for students seeking to contribute to efforts advancing women's rights, gender equality, international development, and peacebuilding.

The internship lasts approximately 20 weeks and is scheduled to begin in early 2027. Selected interns will work alongside the communications team and international staff, with a schedule that allows participants to combine their duties with university assignments during regular working hours. While the position is unpaid, interns are covered by the organisation's accident insurance during the placement.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants are students studying Political Science, Global Development Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations, Human Rights, or a related field. Candidates must possess university credits in Gender Studies or demonstrate knowledge and interest in gender equality and women's rights through other experience.

Applicants must also be fluent in both English and Swedish, possess strong analytical, research, and writing skills, and share the organisational values of courage, commitment, and credibility. A good understanding of advocacy stakeholders such as the European Union, the United Nations, and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate an interest in intersectional feminism, diversity, and challenging inequalities. Knowledge of Swedish politics from a gender equality perspective is considered an advantage.

Candidates should preferably have financial support through CSN, Erasmus+, another funding source, or personal means, as the internship is primarily designed for students needing a placement for their studies. Applicants participating in labour integration programmes that support internships may also be suitable.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae written in either English or Swedish, answers to the application questions, and a cover letter as requested in the online application form. Candidates are also required to provide information explaining how the internship will be financed, such as through CSN, Erasmus+, another funding source, or personal means.

How to apply

Interested candidates must submit their application through the official recruitment page by the specified deadline.

Key dates
