The International Renewable Energy Agency is inviting applications for the position of Associate Professional – Statistics within its Knowledge, Policy and Finance Centre in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The initial appointment is for a duration of one year, with the possibility of extension, and an expected start date as soon as possible. The successful candidate will support the collection, validation, analysis, and dissemination of renewable energy statistics used by governments, researchers, and policymakers to inform energy planning and monitor international development commitments.

Furthermore, candidates must have experience in collecting, compiling, analysing, and disseminating statistics, along with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and excellent written and spoken English.
What you get
The position offers an indicative annual salary of US$36,000 to US$38,000, US$41,000, US$44,000, US$48,000, US$51,000, or up to US$54,000, determined according to qualifications and years of relevant work experience as a monthly lump-sum amount. Additional benefits include a monthly accommodation allowance of US$1,600, a relocation grant of US$1,200 upon arrival or separation when relocation is involved, an installation grant of US$1,300 when relocation is involved, health insurance, and other applicable entitlements under the agency's rules.
Requirements
Applicants are required to have experience in collecting, compiling, analysing, and disseminating statistics and must demonstrate high proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Additional advantageous skills include familiarity with Python or R for statistical analysis and data manipulation, knowledge of Power BI or Tableau for data visualisation, experience managing and manipulating large datasets, knowledge of methodologies used in energy statistics, and the ability to conduct research and analyse statistical information with minimal guidance. Applicants should demonstrate accuracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail. Knowledge of other official United Nations languages, particularly Spanish or Russian, is considered an advantage.
