Human Concern International Is Hiring a Remote Fundraising Officer – Earn CAD $55,000–$60,000 Annually

Human Concern International (HCI), which has delivered emergency relief and humanitarian assistance for more than 40 years and supported families in over 40 countries, is hiring a full-time, permanent Fundraising Officer based in Vancouver, British Columbia, working remotely. The position is 37.5 hours per week with occasional evening, weekend and travel commitments, and pays CAD 55,000 to 60,000 per year.
The officer is HCI's main representative in the Vancouver community, raising awareness of its mission, building relationships with donors and community partners and carrying out fundraising strategies for its humanitarian programmes. Working with the Fundraising Manager, the officer leads outreach, organises community events, recruits volunteers and identifies new funding opportunities. Duties include representing HCI at public events, building relationships with donors and community leaders, managing outreach calendars, workshops and speaking engagements, engaging high-net-worth individuals, partnering with schools, colleges and universities and working with local NGOs. The officer also develops fundraising campaigns, grows online giving, direct mail, peer-to-peer and major gift programmes, tracks targets and donor trends, plans and delivers events, recruits and trains volunteers, develops youth engagement, researches and writes grant applications, ensures grant compliance and keeps accurate donor records.
Requirements
Applicants need a post-secondary qualification in fundraising, event planning, project management or a related field, or equivalent experience, experience in fundraising, sales or nonprofit event planning, a background in community engagement and volunteering, good communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills and the ability to work independently and in teams. Fluency in English is required, and French or another language is an asset. A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle are needed.
