Overview

The Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) is looking for a Communications Officer to fill a temporary replacement position from October 2026 to June 2027. The role suits communications professionals interested in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, civil society networks and locally led approaches to peace and security.

GPPAC is a member-led global network of more than 250 civil society organisations. It promotes a network approach to peacebuilding, helping organisations and communities develop locally led and locally owned solutions to conflict and insecurity, and gives members chances to exchange knowledge and collaborate across regions. It is headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands.

The officer contributes to communicating the work of this global network. GPPAC shares its work through news and stories, publications, policy resources, events, podcasts, social media, newsletters and digital campaigns, and its public storytelling gives visibility to peacebuilders and local initiatives. Its Peace Corner podcast, for example, has featured peacebuilders discussing polarisation and divisions between communities. Topics covered across its resources include conflict prevention, human security, climate, peace and security, and financing local peacebuilding.

Who can apply

The post is relevant to communications professionals who want to use storytelling, digital communications and public engagement to support peacebuilding, and who want to connect communications with areas such as international development, human rights, civil society and international advocacy.

How to apply

Candidates should apply to the advertised vacancy, since GPPAC does not process open or unsolicited applications. There are currently no internship or consultancy openings.

Key dates

The temporary position runs from October 2026 to June 2027.
