GoodPower is hiring a Senior Researcher (Mixed Methods) for its Good Data Lab. The post is fully remote and open to candidates based in the United States. GoodPower is a global organization that works to unlock the economic potential of decarbonization through research, innovation, strategic communications and emerging technologies. It combines behavioral science, digital media, artificial intelligence, data analytics and public engagement to improve public understanding and acceptance of renewable energy, regenerative agriculture, energy storage and sustainable transportation.
The researcher acts as a scientific leader in the lab, developing and managing applied research from conception to dissemination and turning findings into recommendations for policymakers, practitioners and leaders. The role reports to the Chief Research Officer, involves building partnerships with academic institutions and research organizations, and requires limited travel for meetings and retreats.
What you get
The annual salary is USD 100,000 to 120,000. Requirements
Applicants need a PhD in psychology, sociology, political science, communication, behavioral science, public policy, evaluation or another relevant social science. They should have strong experience in experimental or quasi-experimental research, quantitative methods, statistical analysis and causal inference, as well as qualitative and mixed-methods approaches. Proficiency in R, Python, Stata, SAS, SPSS or similar software is expected, along with clear writing for academic and public audiences and the ability to manage several projects independently. Three or more years of postdoctoral research and expertise in climate communication, renewable energy, political behavior, misinformation, agriculture or electric vehicle adoption are particularly competitive.
The work includes designing randomized controlled trials, field and survey experiments, running interviews and focus groups, measuring attitudes and behavior change, and producing reports and publications.
