Global Social Media & Community Manager at Technovation: Remote U.S. Job | $70,000–$80,000
Overview
Technovation is hiring a Global Social Media and Community Manager, a full-time remote role open to candidates anywhere in the United States, with a salary of US$70,000 to US$80,000 per year. The manager has two aims: strengthening Technovation's community and growing its global brand. The community includes alumni, mentors, educators, volunteers and Women Techmakers, and Technovation's reach spans more than 120 countries. Because the team is lean, the organisation wants someone who can work independently, make strategic decisions, experiment and prioritise what has impact.
What the role involves
The manager recruits, onboards, trains, recognises and retains Social Ambassadors and content contributors, and creates prompt kits, templates and asset packs to help them contribute. They connect youth alumni with the Women Techmakers community, noting that 87% of alumni over 18 are pursuing or planning STEM degrees. They own the global social media presence, including the content calendar, publishing schedule, platform strategy and channel voice, and produce graphics, carousels, stories and short-form video. They also run daily community management of comments, messages and mentions. Since Technovation works with young people from as young as eight, child safeguarding, privacy, media consent and safe moderation are central, and sensitive matters must be escalated. They also work with creators, STEM educators and youth creators.
Requirements
Applicants need at least four years in community management, social media or audience engagement, including at least two where community building was a primary responsibility. Experience building online communities where members create value, running volunteer, ambassador or creator programmes, working across cultures and time zones, and working with creators or influencer and affiliate partners is important. Strong content production and short-form video editing are required, and experience with AI tools, Canva, Asana, Slack, Google Suite and social scheduling and listening tools is valuable. Excellent written English is required and additional languages are a significant advantage.
What you get
Benefits include 20 vacation days, federal holidays and sick time, a paid year-end shutdown week, fully covered medical, dental and vision, life insurance, a 401(k) with a match after two years, flexible spending options and a tenure bonus plan, with core hours and flexible scheduling.
How to apply
Applicants apply online and complete a screening task covering ambassador or volunteer programmes, an analysis of Technovation's public social channels, how to connect youth alumni with Women Techmakers, and AI's influence on social strategy.
