Girl Effect India Content Writer Consultancy: Request for Proposal – Apply by 28 August 2026
Overview
Girl Effect India is inviting experienced creative content writers to submit proposals for a consultancy developing youth-centred content for a large programme that empowers adolescent girls and young women across India. Girl Effect is an international non-profit that creates media and content to help girls access information, build confidence and make decisions about health, education, relationships and livelihoods, reaching more than 50 million people. The consultancy is expected to start on 10 September 2026 and run for roughly four to five months on a daily-rate, timeline-driven basis.
The writer will produce multimedia and interactive learning content, including scripts, animations, videos, audio, chatbot conversations, games, worksheets, quizzes, role plays and reflection activities, along with facilitator scripts, discussion prompts, FAQs and guidance for frontline facilitators. Content is written first in English and later adapted into Hindi, Marathi and Telugu, so it must be structured for accurate translation. The consultant will also write stories and case studies, work with designers and multimedia specialists, join co-creation workshops, design sprints and user testing, and revise materials based on feedback while keeping them accurate, inclusive and safeguarding-sensitive.
Requirements
Candidates need at least 5 to 6 years of professional writing or related experience, knowledge of content strategy and development, and excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. Strong English and Hindi communication is required, along with the ability to simplify complex ideas for girls and young women. Experience in behaviour change or learning-focused content is an advantage.
How to apply
Consultants submit separate technical and financial proposals. The technical proposal explains their understanding of the assignment, includes a CV or credentials, links to previous work and three references. The financial proposal gives a budget in Indian Rupees with daily and monthly rates and is considered only for qualified technical submissions.
