Engineering Lead

Overview

The Engineering Lead is a full-time, hybrid position based in the United Kingdom, offered by the employer Bjak. This role involves taking ownership of technical direction and execution for major products and systems. Responsibilities include designing scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure, as well as writing code, building alongside the team, conducting code reviews, and driving critical engineering initiatives from initial idea to production.

Requirements

Applicants must have seven or more years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems, along with deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure. Candidates need strong system design and architecture skills, robust coding abilities, and a proven track record of technically leading major engineering projects. The position requires strong English communication skills, and applicants must be based in or able to work from the United Kingdom. Experience scaling teams or operating across multiple markets is considered a nice to have.
