Earn a UN-Grade Salary in Amsterdam: Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) Hiring Impact Investment Manager at P-2 Level
Overview
The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) is recruiting an Impact Investment Manager at the P-2 level for its Amsterdam headquarters. The CFC is an international financial institution within the United Nations ecosystem, founded in 1989, with 101 Member States. It operates as an impact investment fund that supports commodity-dependent developing countries, and it says it has helped mobilise more than US$1 billion for SMEs and smallholder farmers.
The post sits within a small team of impact investment and technical assistance staff and reports to the Chief Operations Officer. The manager will build a pipeline of investment opportunities, assess them for impact, risk and financial return, and lead the full cycle for trade finance and term loans. Other duties include on-site and off-site due diligence, financial modelling, credit appraisal, loan structuring, negotiating terms and legal agreements, portfolio monitoring and preparing reports.
Who can apply
The CFC can only employ nationals of its Member States, so applicants should check that their nationality is covered before applying. Candidates need an advanced degree, such as a Master's or higher, in economics, business administration, agribusiness, finance or a related field.
Requirements
Applicants should have at least five years of experience in a financial or development setting, ideally with an impact fund, commercial or development bank, or development finance institution. Strong credit and financial analysis skills and a sound grasp of accounting standards are expected, along with experience assessing SME business models in agriculture. Knowledge of commodity value chains, rural development, regenerative agriculture, circular economy and sustainable finance is relevant, as is experience in multicultural teams. Knowledge of the UN Global Compact principles is an advantage. English is the working language, and French is a distinct advantage.
What you get
The position is graded ICSC P-2, so pay follows United Nations grade levels, and the CFC describes a tax-exempt salary plus additional benefits. The first appointment is a one-year fixed-term contract, renewable subject to performance and funding. The job is full time and on-site in Amsterdam.
How to apply
Applications and CVs must be in English and submitted through the official CFC recruitment platform. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further assessments. All personnel are subject to background checks.
Key dates
The deadline is Wednesday, 23 September 2026, at 18:00 CET/GMT+2. Late applications will not be considered.
