Overview
Concern Worldwide, an international humanitarian and development organisation founded in 1968, is recruiting a Director of Development and Fundraising in Ireland. Concern works in countries affected by conflict, climate change, food insecurity and emergencies to end extreme poverty and reduce suffering, aiming to reach those furthest behind first.
The Director reports to the Chief Executive Officer and sits on the Senior Management Team. The role leads fundraising across Ireland and helps shape a coordinated global fundraising strategy with teams in the United Kingdom, the United States and South Korea. Responsibilities include driving sustainable income growth through varied channels, leading multidisciplinary fundraising teams, expanding public fundraising, strengthening corporate partnerships, growing philanthropic and major donor programmes, improving supporter engagement and stewardship, raising Concern's public profile and brand, ensuring fundraising meets governance and regulatory standards, managing related risk and supporting strategic planning.
Requirements
Concern seeks an accomplished leader with extensive senior fundraising experience and a proven record of significant income growth. Candidates should have led integrated fundraising and marketing strategies, developed and stewarded major donors, managed high-performing multidisciplinary teams and built partnerships. Strategic thinking, commercial awareness, strong leadership and communication, and a commitment to humanitarian values are expected. Experience in large, complex organisations or the nonprofit sector is a particular advantage.
