CodePath Claude Corps Mentor Job 2026: Remote U.S. Software Engineering Opportunity Paying Up to $124,500
Overview
CodePath is hiring a Claude Corps Mentor, a full-time technical coaching role for software engineers who enjoy developing other engineers. Claude Corps is a national fellowship launched in June 2026 by CodePath and Anthropic with a US$150 million commitment, aiming to place 1,000 AI-trained fellows at nonprofit organizations across the United States. CodePath says it has trained more than 40,000 students from over 1,000 universities.
The mentor coaches around 20 fellows in roughly 10 pods spread across 8 to 12 host organizations, from the stage before Basecamp to the final day of the program. The role reports to the Senior Manager of AI Practice. It is fully remote within the United States and a full-time W-2 employee position, with an expected start date of September 21, 2026 and a cohort launch on October 19, 2026.
What the role involves
Much of the work is written and asynchronous. The mentor reviews pull requests, roadmaps and architecture proposals, runs weekly office hours and one-on-one meetings, leads Day 30, 90, 180 and 270 reviews, delivers curriculum modules in the pods and co-leads the Basecamp practical assessment with Anthropic instructors. They also spot technical patterns across fellows, escalate them to the right team, raise the alarm when a fellow's work is at risk, and use AI tools in coaching and code review.
Requirements
Candidates need about 2 to 4 years of professional software engineering experience, some coaching or mentoring background (formal management is not required), the ability to review unfamiliar code, and experience shipping production software with AI-assisted tools. Strong written communication, a generalist mindset and availability across U.S. time zones, including about two evenings a month, are expected. Preferred experience includes teaching assistant, bootcamp or fellowship mentoring work and breadth across areas such as full-stack web, data engineering, AI engineering, machine learning or DevOps.
What you get
The salary is 110,000 to 124,500 US dollars a year, set by level rather than location. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k), life and disability insurance, paid time off and holidays, 10 weeks of paid parental leave, a year-end closure from December 24 to January 2, a 1,000 dollar professional development stipend, home office support and eligibility under Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
