Flexible working arrangements, including working from home, are available subject to operational requirements. The officer supports the Authority's Stakeholder Engagement Strategy, working with communities, researchers, governments and industry on communications and outreach in Australia's climate policy area, and reports to the Assistant Manager.

Duties include coordinating workshops, roundtables, meetings, consultations and events, supporting public engagements involving the CEO, Chair and Members, maintaining stakeholder records, sending invitations and tracking responses, providing administrative and user support for the digital engagement platform Converlens, developing website content, stakeholder communications, presentations, publications and digital content, and helping monitor and evaluate communication and engagement activities.

Who can apply

Applicants must be Australian citizens. Requirements

The Authority wants demonstrated stakeholder engagement and event coordination experience, strong written and verbal communication, teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting and the ability to manage competing deadlines. Relevant tertiary qualifications or proven experience in outreach, communications, public relations or events will be considered. Experience with digital engagement platforms, government or policy settings, climate or environmental policy, and monitoring and evaluating programme performance is advantageous. The successful candidate must obtain and keep an AGSVA Baseline security clearance, and pre-employment checks include a National Police Check, identity checks and referee checks.

How to apply

Applicants send a 500-word pitch on how their skills and experience fit the role, plus a current CV with two referees in .doc, .docx or .pdf format, by email. Following Australian Public Service Commission principles, the covering email must say whether AI was used in preparing the application and, if so, which tools and which parts.

Applications close on 30 September 2026 at 11:59pm AEST, and late applications will not be accepted.
