Climate Caucus Is Hiring a Remote Programs & Policy Senior Manager — Earn $75,000–$80,000 Per Year
Overview
Climate Caucus, a national, non-partisan nonprofit working where local democracy meets climate policy, is hiring a Programs & Policy Senior Manager. It supports local elected leaders across Canada in developing and advocating for climate initiatives at municipal, provincial and federal levels, aiming for communities that are resilient, healthy, regenerative, decarbonized and socially just. The role is full-time and fully remote, with a starting salary of $75,000 to $80,000 depending on experience, and applicants must live and be able to work in Canada.
What you will do
About 35 percent of the job is programme and project management: running programmes, initiatives, working groups and multi-year projects, building frameworks for new ones, designing research and multi-stakeholder engagement, spotting emerging member needs, evaluating outcomes and advising the Executive Director. The rest centres on research and policy analysis, such as monitoring trends and legislation, leading policy research, reviewing work for quality, coaching a staff researcher and turning research and legislative developments into handbooks, policy briefs and accessible resources. The manager also builds relationships with local elected leaders, government partners and NGOs, turns member feedback into recommendations, manages one direct report and oversees external vendors and budgets.
Requirements
Applicants need at least five years analysing or writing policy or accessible research materials and at least three years managing multi-year programmes with complex stakeholders. Knowledge of the Canadian municipal and climate policy landscape, strong planning, independence and attention to accuracy are expected. Experience managing or mentoring staff is an advantage, and French is an asset.
What you get
Benefits include a fully remote environment, a semi-flexible schedule outside core hours, three weeks of annual vacation, extra paid winter days off, reduced summer hours, $1,200 per year for wellness spending and healthcare benefits. The organization encourages applications from people from marginalized communities. No deadline is stated.
