Overview
CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality is hiring an Advocacy Advisor and Programme Coordinator for a 32-hour, hybrid role based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. CHOICE is a professional youth-led organisation that works globally so that young people can make informed decisions about their sexual, reproductive and love lives, and that builds the capacity of youth-led organisations and supports young leaders. The post sits across two teams, the International Advocacy Team and the Youth Leadership Team, and is about 65 percent advocacy and 35 percent programme coordination.
As Advocacy Advisor, the postholder contributes to the When You(th) Lead programme, supporting advocacy strategies, coordinating advocacy among partners, aligning approaches with programme goals, sharing knowledge between youth-led partners, representing CHOICE in meetings and conferences and linking international advocacy to regional and national priorities. The programme coordination side initially supports the EmpowerED programme funded by UNFPA, including setting up a Youth Advisory Group, drafting terms of reference and a code of conduct, creating training and mentorship pathways, preparing workplans and supporting inclusive youth participation within the SRHR Next Alliance programme.
Requirements
Applicants need a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field and or at least two years of relevant experience, knowledge of international advocacy and the UN system, interest in programme coordination, strong communication and networking skills, good planning and fluent English. Experience with youth participation, advocacy strategy, UN or EU advocacy and SRHR programming is valued.
What you get
The contract is for one year with possible renewal. Gross monthly salary is between 3,461 and 3,676 euros depending on experience, with a travel or work-from-home allowance, a laptop and an office near Amsterdam Central Station. The preferred start is mid-September or early October 2026.
