ChangemakerXchange Programme Lead Job 2026: Global Responsible Tech and AI Programme Management Opportunity in Berlin
Overview
ChangemakerXchange is hiring a Programme Lead for a hands-on role delivering a global programme for young changemakers working toward a fairer, more sustainable future for artificial intelligence and the digital world. The position is based in Berlin, Germany, on a 12-month contract expected to run through the end of October 2027 or for one year from the start date. The programme builds on the organisation's earlier AI programme delivered across Europe, Latin America and MENA during 2025 and 2026.
What the role involves
The Programme Lead coordinates four regional cohorts, in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, the United States and Asia Pacific, each with about 12 selected changemakers, so more than 50 in total. Participants work on issues such as alternative AI infrastructure, protecting indigenous and local knowledge, algorithmic bias, the environmental footprint of hardware and data centres, digital rights and fair labour conditions in AI systems.
Responsibilities include end-to-end delivery, such as selecting participants, running kick-offs, group sessions and in-person gatherings, supporting capacity building and keeping the timeline and budget on track. The lead builds project plans and budgets across regions, sets up systems for participant tracking, scheduling and reporting, and acts as the central contact for local hosts and facilitators. The lead also manages the day-to-day relationship with the multinational software company that funds the programme, arranging opportunities such as speed mentoring, collecting impact data and writing funder reports.
Who can apply
The role suits experienced programme and project managers with strengths in stakeholder engagement, corporate partnerships, impact measurement and responsible technology or AI, and who can manage many activities across locations.
