Overview

The Climate and Community Institute (CCI) is hiring a full-time Senior Associate, Finance and Operations. CCI is a national climate and economy think tank that works to build a new climate consensus based on economic justice and affordability. It conducts research and works with movements and progressive policymakers to develop climate and economic policy solutions, improve implementation, shift public narratives, strengthen coalitions and build a fairer economy.

The Senior Associate strengthens the organisation's financial systems, operational processes and internal infrastructure, working with the Development and Operations Director and the Chief of Staff. The role is especially important during CCI's upcoming fiscal transition, which requires improvements to finance and operations systems.

On the finance side, the postholder manages financial systems and processes, supports budgeting and tracking, keeps accurate records, improves procedures and controls and supports compliance and reporting. On the operations side, the role coordinates daily operations, implements procedures, supports organisational planning, improves internal systems, coordinates staff engagement and strengthens workflows. The aim is integrated systems across finance, human resources, compliance and programme operations.

Who can apply

The ideal candidate has experience in finance, operations, administration or organisational management, including managing financial processes, project management, handling multiple priorities, accuracy, improving systems and collaborating in a mission-driven setting. Knowledge of financial management, operational systems, analysis and problem solving, strong communication and a commitment to equity, inclusion and social justice are expected. Experience with nonprofits, advocacy groups or think tanks is an advantage.

What you get

The position is full-time and exempt, at about 40 hours per week, with a salary of $80,000 per year.

How to apply

Applicants submit a cover letter, a resume and a completed application form through CCI's official application form.
