The British Council is recruiting an Assistant Consultant for its Learning Sectors programme, which is supported by Formula 1. The role sits in the Cultural Engagement Strategic Business Unit and contributes to the Education portfolio. Learning Sectors is delivered across seven countries: the UK, Brazil, China, India, Mexico, South Africa and Spain. It helps young people aged 7 to 16 build future skills, including communication and oracy, international collaboration and intercultural awareness, as well as practical skills for STEM careers, with a focus on girls and children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Requirements
Applicants need knowledge of the UK schools education system, experience using technology effectively at work, and knowledge or experience of project delivery, particularly client-funded or partnership projects, including keeping to project management standards. Experience working across cultures and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion is also needed. Direct work with schools or education audiences and knowledge of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning are desirable.
Duties include recruiting and matching schools for partnership projects, supporting them through their collaboration, delivering webinars for teachers, coordinating activities across countries, handling logistics and operational requests, and supporting partnerships and business development. The role also covers safeguarding, security and financial controls, recording performance data for monitoring and evaluation, supporting procurement and reporting to senior managers.
