Overview

The BRICS South-South Knowledge Series 2 is an international online learning and knowledge-exchange initiative organized by the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization and the ILO Emerging and Special Partnerships Unit. The programme focuses on advancing South-South and Triangular Cooperation on skills development, skills mapping, and lifelong learning. It supports the 2026 Indian BRICS Presidency and connects BRICS priorities with relevant G20 discussions. The initiative responds to labour market shifts caused by technological development, artificial intelligence, digitalization, demographic change, and the transition toward greener economies.

Delivered entirely online in English, the initiative consists of three interactive webinars designed to help countries anticipate emerging skills needs, improve technical and vocational education and training, strengthen partnerships between training institutions and industry, and expand access to lifelong learning. Participants examine policy approaches, learn from international experiences, and explore practical opportunities for cooperation.

Who can apply

The programme brings together policymakers, skills development institutions, employers representatives, workers representatives, International Labour Organization specialists, and practitioners. Interested professionals and institutions must review the official event page and registration system for complete participation conditions and registration instructions.

What you get

Participants gain access to an international platform for discussing labor market challenges through international cooperation, comparing policies and institutional approaches across BRICS countries and the wider Global South. The series explores main areas of focus including skills intelligence, emerging occupations, technical and vocational education and training, industry partnerships, entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, recognition of prior learning, qualifications frameworks, and inclusive employability.

Key dates

The programme runs from 9 to 27 November 2026. The application deadline is 16 November 2026.
