Overview

Bixal is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer for its Client Delivery team, focused on Cloud and Compliance. Bixal is a consulting company headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, that works with governments and organisations to improve services through technology, communications, data and human-centred design. The role is fully remote within the continental United States and supports a mission-critical federal platform.

The engineer builds and operates the infrastructure, automation, observability and deployment systems that engineering teams rely on. Responsibilities include building and running CI/CD pipelines, developing Infrastructure as Code and reusable Terraform templates, implementing observability through Datadog, building instrumentation and alerting, setting and monitoring service-level objectives, automating environments, joining on-call rotations, creating golden-path delivery solutions, improving environment stability, deployment safety and configuration consistency, supporting incident response and production operations, automating repetitive work, and joining two-week sprints, backlog refinement and architecture reviews.

Who can apply

Applicants need a bachelor's degree and at least eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination. They should have built and maintained delivery pipelines, infrastructure automation and shared platform services for high-availability systems, and know Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Datadog, monitoring and alerting and FedRAMP-authorized toolchains. Terraform golden-path modules in federal or regulated environments and federal or large enterprise experience are advantages. Applicants must be able to work from the continental United States, as Bixal cannot hire from U.S. territories or other countries, be authorised to work without visa sponsorship, and be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 4 High Risk Public Trust clearance.

What you get

The salary range is $135,000 to $145,000 per year, with most offers near the midpoint. Benefits include flexible hours, a 401(k) with matching, parental leave, medical, dental and vision insurance, a Flexible Spending Account, short-term disability and life insurance, commuter benefits, paid time off and 11 paid holidays.

How to apply

Applicants submit a resume and cover letter through the careers portal and provide information on U.S. work eligibility, working location, expected minimum compensation, security clearance history, federal contracting experience and any previous employment with Bixal.
