Global Health Action Internship Programme 2027: Remote Global Health Opportunities | Apply in November
Overview
The Global Health Equity Internship Programme is offered by Global Health Action, a private nonprofit organization focused on health systems strengthening, community-based programs, and leadership development. The initiative is structured to give emerging professionals practical experience and professional mentorship within an international nonprofit environment. Participants contribute to initiatives addressing health inequalities worldwide, particularly for women, children, and adolescents. The program spans multiple functional areas, including maternal and child health, health policy, research and advocacy, leadership and organizational development, events and marketing, digital fundraising, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
Who can apply
The program welcomes students, recent graduates, and aspiring professionals who are passionate about addressing health inequalities in underserved communities and improving the well-being of vulnerable populations. Candidates typically have academic and professional interests in public health, global health, health policy, international development, monitoring and evaluation, communications, marketing, or fundraising. Applicants should review specific vacancy announcements to ensure their background aligns with the requirements of individual positions.
What you get
Participants receive professional mentorship and guidance from experienced staff while gaining exposure to nonprofit program management and international development initiatives. Depending on the assigned functional area, interns gain hands-on experience in research, program support, communications, advocacy, data management, organizational development, and fundraising. The program also familiarizes participants with global health ethics, coalition building, and collaborative public health problem-solving. The internship lasts between 10 and 12 weeks depending on the cohort, and it is unpaid.
How to apply
Candidates must review available opportunities on the organization's internship page to identify roles matching their career objectives and academic backgrounds. Because individual vacancies may feature different submission instructions and requirements, applicants need to follow the specific guidelines outlined in each relevant announcement. Applications for the Spring cohort open in November.
