Overview

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong is seeking candidates for an Associate Professor or Assistant Professor position within the Department of Economics and Finance. The appointee is expected to assume duty in August 2027.

Who can apply

Applicants are required to hold a PhD in Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline, along with solid teaching and research experience in relevant fields. Candidates should possess a strong record of tertiary teaching at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, with international exposure preferred. Additional qualifications include demonstrable research output and publications, a high level of subject knowledge and competence in the discipline, and an excellent command of written and spoken English.

Requirements

The role involves planning, developing, coordinating, and delivering modules across areas such as Finance, Economics, Real Estate Development, Investment, International Finance, Financial Institutions or Markets, FinTech, and ESG. Responsibilities also include contributing actively to programme development, management, and validation, engaging in high-quality research and scholarly activities, and participating in student development and administrative duties.
