Overview

The Department of Philosophy, located within the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin, The University of Dublin, is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor in Philosophy. This position is a five-year fixed-term, tenure-track appointment intended to lead to permanency, with an anticipated commencement date of 3 August 2027. The selected candidate will report to the Head of Discipline and the Head of School, and the workplace is based at College Green, Dublin 2, Ireland.

Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate an established record of high-quality scholarship in Philosophy, alongside strong potential for continued impactful research and innovation in curriculum and module design. The application must include a cover letter of no more than two A4 pages, a full curriculum vitae containing the names and contact details of three referees, a research statement summarizing current work and future plans spanning up to two A4 pages, and a teaching statement covering experience and approach that is also limited to two A4 pages.
