Overview
Accelerate Change is hiring a Director of Development Operations. The role is full time and 100 percent remote within the United States, with a salary of $95,000 to $145,000 per year depending on experience. Accelerate Change, founded in 2012, is a nonprofit digital media lab that works to increase civic engagement among BIPOC and low-income communities through digital media.
The director leads the strategic direction and daily running of the Development Operations Department, reports to the VP of Development and Executive Operations, and manages a Grants Manager and a Development and Communications Manager.
What you will do
Responsibilities include overseeing grant management, covering proposals, writing, reporting and administration, including for incubated projects. The director also oversees donor data and development systems in Salesforce, including processing donations, reports and acknowledgment letters, supports solicitation and funder relationships, develops funder communications such as email campaigns, LinkedIn, events, webinars and annual reports, coaches the team, works with finance and program teams on grant requirements, runs quarterly grant compliance and expenditure audits, reviews grant agreements for risk, and updates leadership on performance and compliance.
Requirements
Applicants need at least five years in a director-level development role overseeing a team or department at a medium-sized or larger nonprofit. Experience with Salesforce, particularly the Nonprofit Success Pack, and knowledge of nonprofit financial compliance and IRS rules are important, as are excellent writing, organisation and attention to detail, people management and creative problem solving. Experience using AI and automation for tasks such as grant writing and data entry is valuable, along with a commitment to social change and racial equity.
