Overview

Be Aware and Share is an independent nonprofit organization that supports refugees and displaced people in Europe through material assistance, social support, educational activities, and recreational opportunities. The organization is seeking two experienced professionals to fill open positions on its Executive Board. These voluntary roles focus on public relations and project management to help shape the strategic direction of a grassroots nonprofit that maintains a community centre in Ioannina, Greece.

What you get

The successful candidates will join the existing Executive Board for a minimum commitment of one year, contributing roughly eight hours per week to leadership and operational oversight. While these are unpaid positions, board members have the opportunity to guide the strategic development of a dynamic NGO, coordinate operational reviews, and represent the organization in Swiss and other humanitarian networks. The work arrangement is remote, though members are expected to make visits to the community centre located in Ioannina, Greece.

Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities, along with a very good command of spoken and written English. Candidates should exhibit strong motivation, reliability, resilience, flexibility, teamwork, and an understanding of the social and political situation of people on the move in Europe, particularly in Greece. Additional language skills, professional leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, and a background with a grassroots NGO are considered advantages.

How to Apply

Interested individuals must submit their CV, cover letter, and references via email by 4 November 2026. Submissions should be sent to the designated organizational email address with the job title included in the subject line, and applicants must clearly state whether they are applying for the public relations role or the project management role. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in interviews.

Key dates

Applications close on 4 November 2026. The positions require a minimum commitment lasting one year.
