Overview

The World Food Programme is recruiting a Junior Consultant for Programme Policy in Cairo, Egypt, within the MENAEE Regional Director's Office. It is a full-time, fully present Junior Consultancy with an initial duration of 11 months. Working under the Regional Representation Advisor, the consultant supports policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, strategic briefing and knowledge management to strengthen WFP's engagement with regional institutions, UN entities, international financial institutions and other influential stakeholders, and to support Country Offices.

The work includes stakeholder mapping and political economy analysis of regional actors and processes, monitoring regional policy, humanitarian and development trends, UN reform and international financial institution initiatives, and turning findings into concise analysis for senior management. The consultant prepares talking points, background notes and engagement packages for the Regional Director, coordinates inputs from Country Offices and Headquarters so external messaging is accurate and coherent, supports regional engagement strategies, maintains knowledge repositories, and helps plan policy dialogues, roundtables and consultations. Corporate reporting and emergency support for Country Offices may also be assigned.

Experience drafting briefing materials, supporting senior leadership, coordinating across teams and engaging with governments, international organizations, civil society or the private sector is desirable.
