Web Engineer Intern
Overview
Epic Games, the interactive entertainment company behind Fortnite and Unreal Engine, is offering a Web Engineer internship in the Tools and Portals team within Epic Online Services. The posting lists London in the United Kingdom and Cary, North Carolina in the United States as locations. Tools and Portals builds the software and platforms that let Epic internal teams, player support, players and external developers work with Epic services. The start date in 2027 is flexible, and recruitment continues until teams find a good match.
What you will do
Interns contribute to production systems across the full stack with guidance from the team. They build full-stack features using React, Next.js, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, work on backend services and APIs using Next.js, NestJS and Node.js, and learn development practices for production infrastructure including AWS, Kubernetes, containers and CI/CD pipelines. They write, test, review and deploy production code alongside experienced engineers, apply AI-assisted software development workflows, and contribute to internal tools and developer platforms used across Epic.
Requirements
Epic looks for an interest in full-stack web development and some familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, React or similar technologies through coursework, projects or earlier experience. Applicants should be eager to learn, ask questions, work through well-defined problems, accept feedback, collaborate with engineers and partners, communicate progress and blockers clearly, and be interested in AI-assisted development. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the posting location for the duration of the internship.
