Overview
UNICEF is offering a four-month Thought Leadership and Content Strategy Internship in the Director's Office of the Global Programme Division at its New York Headquarters, with a flexible on-site or remote arrangement. The division provides global strategic leadership, develops standards and supports evidence-based solutions linking global policy to implementation. The intern supports the Director and applies academic knowledge while building communication, analytical and technical skills.
What you will do
Digital engagement work includes managing a pipeline of LinkedIn blogs and articles that strengthen the Director's external presence, tracking LinkedIn reach and engagement against key performance indicators, preparing monthly reports with recommendations, and coordinating contributions from internal teams and partners. In research, the intern helps shape a research theme linked to the Director's Office priorities, turns findings into thought pieces, blogs and articles, researches emerging issues and partner priorities, and contributes to knowledge products such as journals and field notes.
The intern also maintains SharePoint sites, organizes document libraries, applies naming conventions and metadata, supports version control and archives records. Recruitment support includes drafting Terms of Reference, coordinating with candidates and referees, supporting reference checks, and tracking documentation and approvals.
Who can apply
Applicants should be enrolled in a graduate degree programme or have graduated recently; UNICEF says candidates should have been enrolled in a graduate programme within the past year, preferably in economics, social sciences, political sciences, business or a related field. Recent graduates may be eligible up to two years after completing their degree. Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office is required, and project management skills are an advantage. UNICEF looks for strategic thinking, curiosity, analytical ability, strong writing, organization and teamwork, with alignment to its mandate and values. Fluent English is required, and French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or Russian is an advantage.
