Overview

Upvest offers an internship position for a Securities Operations Intern to join the Settlements and Transfers team. The role is based in France, supporting the launch of the Plan d'Epargne en Actions on the French market. Interns gain direct exposure to French and European post-trade operations, handling tasks across the full post-trade chain of securities accounts and transfers from instruction processing to settlement at Euroclear France.

What you do

The position involves managing incoming and outgoing securities account and Plan d'Epargne en Actions transfers with banks and brokers in France and across Europe. Responsibilities include communicating with counterparties and clients, performing controls and reconciliations of securities and cash positions against custodians, and managing settlement exceptions or fails. Additional duties comprise reviewing and recording Plan d'Epargne en Actions tax statements, processing operations on French registered shares, monitoring service level agreements and key performance indicators, writing operating procedures, and identifying automation opportunities.

Who can apply

Candidates must be enrolled in a Master's degree program at the M1 or M2 level in Finance, Banking, Economics, or Law from a business school, engineering school, or university. Gap-year students and recent Master's graduates who are able to sign an internship agreement are welcome to apply. Applicants must have native-level or bilingual proficiency in French at the C2 level and be comfortable working in English. Prior experience in banking, back office, middle office, or securities operations, alongside knowledge of the Plan d'Epargne en Actions, post-trade, or Euroclear France, is considered a strong plus.

Requirements

Applicants need an analytical mindset characterized by rigor, attention to detail, and a capability for problem-solving. Candidates should be confident using spreadsheets, while knowledge of SQL or Python serves as an additional asset.
