Overview

Checkout.com is offering a three-year Finance Analyst Apprentice position as part of the NextGen Early Careers Program based in London, United Kingdom. The position is situated within the fast-paced EU Finance department, reporting directly to the Regional Finance Director. Selected participants balance daily team deliverables with professional studies toward an ACCA qualification, dedicating roughly 20 percent of their time to study. The program involves rotating through six core finance pillars: Financial Control and Revenue and Billing in the first year, Tax and Treasury in the second year, and Strategic Finance and Finance Transformation in the third year, with potential exposure to adjacent areas like Product Control, Procurement, or Internal Audit.

Who can apply

This position functions as a government-funded Level 7 ACCA apprenticeship, and appointment requires meeting official government apprenticeship funding and eligibility criteria verified by an approved training provider. Under current funding regulations for England, Level 7 funding primarily applies to individuals aged 16 to 21, alongside limited exceptions for eligible applicants aged 22 to 24 who hold an Education, Health and Care Plan or have a background in care. Applicants must possess either a degree qualification, or a Level 4 Association of Accounting Technicians qualification completed prior to the September start date accompanied by two A Levels or equivalent and three GCSEs including passes in English and Mathematics. Visa sponsorship is unavailable for this opportunity, and the role cannot be undertaken on a privately funded basis.

What you get

Apprentices receive hands-on professional experience alongside technical training, structured mentorship, and regular networking opportunities as part of a global community. Each placement receives support from a dedicated Rotation Manager and guidance from senior Finance leadership. The hybrid working model provides flexibility, requiring three days per week in the office to foster collaboration and connection.

Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate academic ambition to pursue the ACCA pathway toward becoming a Chartered Accountant, an analytical mindset with comfort handling numbers, and high attention to detail. Applicants need resilience to meet tight deadlines in a high-growth environment, proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, and strong verbal and written communication skills paired with a collaborative approach. Prior exposure to accounting systems such as Workday is helpful but not required.
