Overview

The Yeungnam University PSPS Scholarship 2027 provides funding for international students pursuing a Master's degree at the Park Chung Hee School of Policy and Saemaul in South Korea. Established in 2011, the school aims to share South Korea's development experience, economic model, and rural transformation with global leaders. The program is designed for prospective government officials, development practitioners, NGO leaders, and researchers focusing on community development, public policy, economic planning, and environmental governance.

Who can apply

Applicants and both of their parents must hold non-Korean citizenship and have completed at least 12 years of formal elementary, middle, and high school education. Candidates must hold a recognized Bachelor's degree or equivalent four-year degree, while those with a three-year Bachelor's degree must verify equivalence with the admissions office. Applicants must also demonstrate English proficiency through recognized test scores dated on or after October 30, 2024, or qualify through exemptions as native English speakers, citizens of official English-speaking countries, or graduates from institutions where English was the sole medium of instruction.

What you get

Admitted candidates automatically receive the PSPS General Scholarship package, which includes a complete 100 percent tuition fee waiver for all four semesters and an exemption from university entrance fees. Recipients also receive a monthly living allowance for the first academic year spanning March 2027 to February 2028. Students must self-fund their living expenses for any remaining time in the program, as airfare, health insurance, visa fees, and dormitory housing fees are excluded from the award. Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.5 each semester without failing any courses; falling below this threshold results in a requirement to pay 30 percent of tuition for the subsequent semester.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a completed and signed PSPS application form, an apostilled or consular-authenticated official Bachelor's degree certificate, official academic transcripts showing cumulative GPA details, a curriculum vitae, and a personal statement and study plan on prescribed forms. Additional mandatory paperwork includes an academic record verification agreement form, a health self-evaluation and commitment statement, proof of English proficiency, two letters of recommendation from academic or professional referees, family and nationality proof such as birth certificates or family relationship documents along with passport copies of the applicant and both parents, and an application fee receipt. Non-English or non-Korean documents require certified notarized translations, and expected graduates must submit final academic records according to program guidelines.

How to apply

Applicants must download the prescribed forms from the official portal, pay the non-refundable application fee of KRW 100,000 or $80 USD, and retain the bank wire receipt. All application materials must be compiled into a single PDF organized strictly by the checklist and emailed to pspsapply@yu.ac.kr with the subject line formatted with the application number and applicant name. Shortlisted candidates may be asked to submit a self-produced video interview or participate in an online Zoom interview with the selection committee.

Key dates

The application submission deadline is November 27, 2026. Document verification and screening take place in December 2026, followed by the announcement of final admission and scholarship results in January 2027.
