Victoria University Wellington Scholarship In New Zealand (Fully Funded)
Overview
The Victoria University of Wellington Tongarewa International Scholarships recognize the university's international student community. Each year Te Herenga Waka, Victoria University of Wellington, offers these partial tuition-based awards to new international students beginning their studies there. The scholarships are competitive and are selected on academic merit, and the amount is credited directly to tuition fees. They cover one year of study at undergraduate or postgraduate level, including Master's research, Master's by coursework, other postgraduate study, first-year students and school leavers.
What you get
The value is up to $10,000 and the tenure is one year. The number of awards varies. For the Master's research award described here, the package includes a $10,000 tax-free stipend and one year of tuition fees, specifically national fees for the thesis component only. The Scholarship Office pays the fees directly to the university. Non-Australian international students must pay the difference between the full international student fee and the national fee.
Who can apply
Applicants must be international students who are normally expected to have completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent at a recognized university. They need to show strong leadership and academic potential and must be willing to follow the university's guidelines on student behavior. The award goes to those with the strongest academic achievement or merit, as decided by a university committee. Selected candidates must work full-time on the research needed to complete the Master's qualification.
