University of Waikato Excellence Scholarship In New Zealand 2027 (Funded)

Overview

The University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarship is a competitive award for international students starting undergraduate or taught postgraduate study in New Zealand. It targets academically outstanding applicants with strong leadership potential who can act as global ambassadors for New Zealand education. Any subject area is eligible.

What you get

The scholarship is worth up to NZD $15,000 toward tuition fees.

Who can apply

Applicants must be citizens of one of the eligible countries and must not be New Zealand citizens. They must be enrolling at the University of Waikato for the first time in an undergraduate or postgraduate taught program, and they must already hold a conditional or unconditional offer of admission. English language requirements must be met.

Eligible countries are listed by region. They include the USA and Canada in North America, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Chile and Ecuador in Latin America, and Germany, the UK, France and Norway in Europe. They also include China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan in East Asia, and India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan and the Maldives in South Asia. Southeast Asian countries are Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Jordan and Iran are eligible from the Middle East, and Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mauritius from Africa.

Study options span the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Health, Sport, and Human Performance, Education, Law, Maori and Indigenous Studies, Science and Engineering, Waikato Management School and Waikato Pathways College.
