How to apply
The process involves an online application, an entrance examination for relevant programmes and later selection stages. Candidates need an electronic passport-size photograph and scanned signature, and those requesting a fee waiver may need a recommendation letter.
The external graduate school examination is online and multiple choice, held in several Indian cities. The morning session covers Science Education and Mathematics for the PhD at the Centre for Applicable Mathematics. The afternoon session covers Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Learning, Information and Data Sciences, Biology through JGEEBILS and other Mathematics programmes.

The application portal opens on September 26, 2026. Fee-waiver requests are due by October 11, 2026 at 11 PM, and registration closes on October 25, 2026 at 11 PM. The entrance examination takes place on Sunday, December 13, 2026, and the programme begins on August 1, 2027.
