Swinburne University of Technology Scholarships In Australia (Funded)
Overview
Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, offers merit-based tuition reductions to international students for 2027. The scholarships apply to eligible courses at the Hawthorn campus and are assessed automatically, so no separate scholarship application is needed. They reduce tuition only; living expenses, accommodation and insurance are not covered.
What you get
There are four scholarship categories. The Swinburne International Scholarship gives a 20 percent tuition fee reduction across the full standard duration of the course. The George Swinburne International Excellence Scholarship gives a 30 percent reduction over the whole course and is the highest-value merit award. The Swinburne International Pathway Scholarship reduces fees by up to AUD 3,000 for students enrolling in foundation or pathway programs. The ELICOS+ Scholarship refunds up to 10 weeks of ELICOS tuition fees, to a maximum of AUD 5,000, applied across the first three semesters of the English language program.
Who can apply
The scholarships cover undergraduate, postgraduate coursework, Foundation Year, UniLink Diploma, Postgraduate Qualifying Program and ELICOS study. Applicants must be international students, not Australian citizens or permanent residents. They must be starting their course for the first time, meet academic entry and English language requirements, and have strong previous academic performance. They must not receive an external tuition reduction or hold another Swinburne tuition scholarship at the same time.
Requirements
Several programs are excluded: the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting (including the combined degree with Business), Master of Physiotherapy, Master of Dietetics, Master of Occupational Therapy, research Master's degrees and PhD programs.
How to apply
Students apply for admission to an eligible Hawthorn campus course for the 2026 or 2027 intake and submit academic documents and English proficiency evidence as part of that application. Swinburne then assesses scholarship eligibility automatically from previous academic results, and any award appears in the official Letter of Offer.
