Singapore Government Scholarships 2027 (Fully Funded)
Overview
The Singapore Government Scholarships are fully funded awards for international students, especially from ASEAN countries, who want to study in Singapore at secondary or undergraduate level. They are funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and other official bodies and include leadership training and global exposure. Three tracks are covered here: the ASEAN Secondary and Pre-University Scholarships, the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship (AUS) and the Dr Goh Keng Swee (GKS) Scholarship.
What you get
The ASEAN Secondary and Pre-University Scholarships are administered by MOE for high-performing ASEAN students aged 14 to 16 and lead to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A Level certificate. They cover school fees, an annual living allowance, return economy airfare, hostel accommodation and medical insurance.
The ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship is administered by MOE through the host universities NUS, NTU and SMU for ASEAN citizens in full-time undergraduate degrees. It covers tuition fees after the MOE Tuition Grant plus an annual living allowance.
The Dr Goh Keng Swee Scholarship is administered by the Association of Banks in Singapore for outstanding undergraduate students from 15 Asia-Pacific economies, including ASEAN. It covers full tuition fees, a SGD $6,500 annual maintenance allowance, a hostel allowance, a one-off settling-in allowance of SGD $200 and round-trip airfare. Consideration for this award is built into the NUS Undergraduate Application Portal.
Who can apply
Applicants must be citizens or passport holders of an eligible ASEAN country, or a designated Asia-Pacific economy for the GKS. They need high academic marks, demonstrated leadership and involvement in co-curricular activities, and strong written and spoken English. For undergraduate awards they must apply for and secure admission to an eligible Singaporean autonomous university.
Requirements
Applicants prepare scanned copies of a passport or national identity card, school certificates and transcripts, proof of English proficiency, a personal statement, recommendation letters and a CV listing achievements and extracurricular activities.
How to apply
At undergraduate level, applicants first apply for admission to NUS, NTU or SMU during the open application window and opt in for the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship or the GKS Scholarship in the university's online portal. Secondary-level applicants apply through the MOE Financial Matters Portal. Shortlisted candidates are invited to selection tests and panel interviews, either virtual or in person.
