Overview
Sabanci University in Istanbul, Turkey, offers scholarships to international students at Bachelor's, Master's and PhD level. The university is ranked among the Best Young Universities Worldwide by Times Higher Education. No separate scholarship application is needed, because every admitted international student is automatically considered for funding.
What you get
There are three scholarship types. The Distinguished Science and Technology Scholarship is the top award for exceptionally accomplished PhD candidates in the Graduate School of Engineering and Natural Sciences. Recipients may also receive co-supervision from leading scientists at institutions worldwide and, where possible, a joint PhD degree with an international partner.
The Sabanci University Full Scholarship for Master's and PhD students covers complete tuition exemption plus a monthly stipend and dormitory housing. Master's students receive 2,500 TL per month for 10 months and a double dormitory room for 10 months. Doctoral students receive 3,000 TL per month for 12 months and a single dormitory room where possible, otherwise a double room, for 12 months.
The Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded after an automatic evaluation of all applicants. Students who want to strengthen their case can submit supporting documents to the scholarship committee, which may lead to a higher award level.
Who can apply
International applicants admitted to Sabanci programmes are eligible. The university offers programmes in three areas: the Institute of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences, and Sabanci Business School. Fields include computer science and engineering, cyber security, data analytics, mechatronics, molecular biology and bioengineering, economics, political science, psychology, visual arts, and business programmes such as MSc Business Analytics, MBA tracks and a Master's in Finance.
