Overview

The Radboud University Scholarship Programme offers non-EU/EEA international students a large tuition fee reduction for English-taught Master's programs at Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. A maximum of 26 scholarships are available across the faculties, with the Faculty of Science receiving 10 and the Faculty of Law 9.

What you get

The standard international Master's tuition at Radboud is about EUR 16,000 per year, and the scholarship lowers it to EUR 2,209 per year, a saving of about EUR 13,791. The scholarship also covers visa costs, residence permit fees, Aon Student Insurance health coverage and liability insurance during the stay in the Netherlands.

Master's programs cover biology, chemistry, computing science, mathematics, physics and astronomy, artificial intelligence, molecular life sciences, medical biology, molecular mechanisms of disease and biomedical sciences. Other fields include behavioral science, cognitive neuroscience, social and cultural science, linguistics and communication sciences, historical, literary and cultural studies, philosophy, international and European law, and the Nijmegen School of Management. All are taught in English.

Who can apply

Applicants must not hold an EU/EEA passport, and EU/EEA nationals who are not eligible for the lower EU/EEA tuition rate for other reasons are also excluded. They must meet the English proficiency requirements of their program and be fully admitted to an English-taught Radboud Master's program starting in September, confirmed by a formal admission letter. They must be able to meet the visa conditions for a Netherlands student visa and residence permit. Selection for the scholarship is separate from admission, so being admitted does not guarantee a scholarship.

How to apply

The scholarship application is part of the Master's admission process in the OSIRIS Application system, where applicants indicate they want to apply for the Radboud Scholarship. They upload two letters of recommendation from academic or professional referees and a CV, which can be reused if already uploaded for admission. After submission, the Student Admissions office may return the application for payment of the handling fee or to correct or add documents, and applicants should respond promptly.

Key dates

The primary application deadline is 31 January at 23:59 CEST. The final completion deadline is 14 February at 23:59 CEST, and incomplete applications are not considered. English proficiency evidence should preferably be submitted by 14 February.
