PhD Studentship: Uncertainty-Aware Synchronisation for Sustainable Data Centre Digital Twins
Overview
This PhD studentship focuses on uncertainty-aware synchronisation for sustainable data centre digital twins. Digital twins require synchronisation between physical and virtual entities to maintain fidelity, but determining when this is necessary is difficult due to forecast errors and uncertainty. Traditional update methods can cause excessive resource consumption or operational drift. This project investigates how self-adaptive digital twins in sustainable data centres can determine synchronisation timing while accounting for physical drift, uncertainty, and stakeholder-defined operational and performance tolerances.
