Oxford Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarship 2027: Fully Funded Graduate Study
Overview
The Oxford Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarship funds graduate study at the University of Oxford for outstanding graduates and professionals from eligible developing and emerging economies. It was established in 2015 and is supported by the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust and the University of Oxford. Alongside funding, scholars join a leadership programme with philosophical discussions, business skills, communication training, mentoring and networking within a supportive community.
What you get
The scholarship covers 100% of course fees and provides a living-cost grant of at least £21,805. Awards cover the full period of the scholar's fee liability for the agreed course. Scholars may also benefit from Oxford college partnerships linked to the programme.
Who can apply
The scholarship is aimed mainly at graduates and professionals who could not otherwise afford to study at Oxford. Applicants must be ordinarily resident in an eligible country, apply to start a new full-time graduate course, and receive an offer for an eligible course. They should intend to return to their country of ordinary residence afterwards and show how their chosen subject connects with long-term career goals and how their work could improve public life in their country or at regional or international level. Current Oxford students are generally ineligible unless already Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholars, and deferred offers for 2027-28 are excluded.
Eligible countries span Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean and other regions, including Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Applicants should check Oxford's official country list, since ordinary residence is assessed.
Requirements
Eligible courses include the Bachelor of Civil Law, Master of Business Administration, Magister Juris, Master of Public Policy, Advanced Computer Science, African Studies, Diplomatic Studies, Economics for Development, Global Health Science and Epidemiology, Migration Studies, Social Data Science, Water Science, Policy and Management, and several others.
How to apply
Applicants apply for an eligible Oxford graduate course and select the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme in the University of Oxford Scholarships section of the graduate application form. A separate Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships Statement must be completed and uploaded with it. The graduate application must be in by the December or January deadline for the chosen course, and applications held over for March consideration or placed on a waiting list are not eligible.
Key dates
Shortlisted applicants are expected to be interviewed, likely online in April 2027, with decisions expected by the end of May 2027.
