NPU Chinese Government Scholarships 2027 in China (Fully Funded)

Overview

The NPU Chinese Government Scholarship 2027 (CSC Type B) is funded by China's Ministry of Education and supports international students on full-time Master's and PhD programmes at Northwestern Polytechnical University in Shaanxi. The university is a Double First-Class institution known for aerospace engineering, computer science and high-tech innovation. Programmes are taught in English or Chinese across faculties including aeronautics and astronautics, computer science, robotics and control, electronics, mechanical engineering, materials, marine science, life sciences, energy, management, and humanities and law.

What you get

The award covers full tuition, free standard on-campus dormitory housing and medical insurance. A monthly living allowance is paid at 3,000 RMB for Master's students and 3,500 RMB for doctoral students.

Who can apply

Applicants must hold non-Chinese nationality and be in good physical and mental health. Master's applicants need a recognized Bachelor's degree and must be under 35. PhD applicants need a recognized Master's degree and must be under 40. English-taught programmes require TOEFL, IELTS or an English proficiency letter from a previous institution, while Chinese-taught programmes require HSK Level 4 or higher.

Requirements

Documents are uploaded online in English or Chinese, with notarized translations for other languages. They include the CSC application form, a passport valid for at least six months past the start date, notarized diplomas and degree certificates, official transcripts, a study plan or research proposal (at least 800 words for Master's, 1,500 for PhD), two recommendation letters from professors, a physical examination form valid within six months, a police clearance issued within the last five months and language proof. A supervisor acceptance letter is highly recommended for PhD applicants.

How to apply

Application is a two-step process. First register on the CSC information system, choose Category Type B and enter NPU's agency number, 10699, then download the generated PDF. Next create an account on the NPU online admission system, pick a programme and upload all documents including the CSC form. After the initial screening, a non-refundable 600 CNY application fee is paid through the NPU portal.

Key dates

The first submission batch runs from November 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026 and is recommended for early review. The second batch runs from January 1, 2027 to February 28, 2027.
