Overview

The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology is a public vocational and higher education institution in Malta offering programmes across multiple campuses in Paola, Mosta, Għajnsielem, and Qormi. The institution provides practical and classroom instruction in fields such as computing, engineering, creative arts, applied sciences, agriculture, and business management. International students considering undergraduate studies in Europe can pursue qualifying three- or four-year bachelor’s degree programmes at the institution.

What you get

Eligible students enrolled in qualifying three- or four-year bachelor’s degree programmes can receive a conditional tuition-fee exemption for their final year of study. This award does not cover the first years of the degree, nor does it pay for accommodation, travel, or living expenses. Additional financial arrangements include payment instalment plans for tuition fees, a GET Qualified tax rebate of up to 70% of tuition fees for individuals paying tax in Malta after graduation, and government stipends and grants restricted primarily to Maltese citizens and certain EU or EEA nationals with permanent residence.

Who can apply

Applicants must meet the academic entry requirements and applicable English-language certification requirements of their chosen course. Those with qualifications from outside Malta may need to satisfy recognition requirements, and non-EU applicants must follow international application procedures. Students who require a visa must obtain the appropriate Maltese study visa prior to travel, and the final-year exemption specifically targets non-EU students enrolled in qualifying bachelor's degrees.

Requirements

To maintain eligibility for the final-year tuition exemption, students must meet academic progression conditions. If a student fails modules during the first two years and subsequently fails resit assessments, causing an extra year of study, the final-year exemption may be lost, requiring payment of the full outstanding tuition fee before beginning the final year. Applicants should request written confirmation from the institution that their chosen course and intake qualify for the exemption.

How to apply

Prospective international students should review the official course catalogue to identify eligible bachelor’s programmes, course durations, and entry requirements for the 2027 intake. Candidates must create an international account and submit their applications through the designated MCAST admissions process.

Key dates

Applications for the October 2027 intake are expected to open in February 2027.
