Groningen University Eric Bleumink Scholarship In Netherlands (Fully Funded)
Overview
The Eric Bleumink Fund Scholarship at the University of Groningen is a fully funded award for outstanding international Master's students from selected developing countries. It is offered for English-taught Master's programmes at the university, which was founded in 1614 and is one of the leading research universities in the Netherlands. The number of applicants each year is considerable, while only a limited number of grants can be issued.
What you get
The grant covers tuition fees, international travel, subsistence, books and health insurance.
Who can apply
Candidates must hold the nationality of an eligible country. The list includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zambia and many others, among them several least-developed countries in Africa and Asia.
Applicants must have received provisional or unconditional admission to an English-taught Master's programme before the February admission cutoff, since only admitted students are considered. They need excellent grades in their undergraduate studies, preferably supported by letters of recommendation, and excellent English proficiency in line with the requirements of the chosen programme. They must be available for the entire programme, be in good health so that health insurance can be arranged, and have no other means of financing the study.
How to apply
There is no separate form to submit for nomination. The University of Groningen Admission Office, in consultation with the admission boards of its faculties, decides which applicants are nominated for an Eric Bleumink Fund scholarship. Candidates therefore apply for admission to a Master's programme and are considered from among those admitted.
Key dates
The stated deadline is before the 1st of December, and admission to a Master's programme must be received before February.
