Set up in April 1988 and financed by the Government of Japan, the Asian Development Bank–Japan Scholarship Program (ADB–JSP) enables outstanding citizens of ADB's developing member countries to pursue graduate study at top academic institutions throughout Asia and the Pacific. Roughly 135 graduate scholarships are awarded each year, helping cultivate future leaders who will drive socioeconomic progress in their home countries.
