Overview

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in International Law of Security, Peace and Sustainable Development is a two-year, full-time international master’s programme designed to address complex global challenges such as armed conflict, climate change, and migration. The curriculum adopts a multidisciplinary approach combining international law, politics, sustainability, and security studies. Students complete the 24-month programme with an October intake by studying in three or more countries across a consortium of six European higher education institutions, supported by a network of 30 associate partners. The structure includes foundation studies at Leuphana University of Lüneburg and the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals, followed by one of four specialization tracks at participating partner universities, and a final semester dedicated to a research dissertation and an optional work placement.

Who can apply

Prospective students can apply either for an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Scholarship or as self-funded students for the 2027–2029 intake. The programme prepares the next generation of international lawyers, policymakers, and professionals capable of working across international law, security, peace, and global governance.
